Althea (WIP)

Surprisingly, Althea is a pretty new and fresh dragon born of a pairing from free dragons who had been untouched by slavery from the king. She was raised in freedom, never tasting captivity and for this it caused her to be a free soul. Althea had stories though, and thus tends to hold a distaste and distrust for humans and certain other species as well. Althea had always been pretty adventurous and it wasn't at all that long before the young dragoness had wound up wandering off on her own, after leaving her parents' den to explore the world. Though it was a scary place and Althea was fast to learn that not everything was just an adventure. She had to fight, hunt and so much more. Yet, the young dragoness adapted and overcame the hardships, turning her into a hardened survivor at heart. To this day, Althea can sometimes be glimpsed roaming as a dragon through the skies, but most often? Well, usually expect her to be mingling with the humans and perhaps doing some work at an Inn or somewhere she can make a little living money off of.

In general, Althea is not a pushover. She's usually wary of humans but it isn't hard for her to put on a fake persona to appeal to strangers as needed. She can be quite the tough nut though and while she is friendly outward, actually getting in and truly forming bonds is not easy. Althea barely has anyone she can truly call a friend, much less a close friend at that. Still, she can make for a loyal one for sure. Althea has shown to be a tad wrathful at times and this can also come in the form of loyalty to those she has befriended, willingness to kill a wrongdoer is in no way off her list. Though one thing about being with Althea is knowing she can be high strung and usually lacks desire to stay tied to a single place at any time, so don't expect to always be with her unless you're willing to travel constantly. Otherwise you just will need to hope to somehow find her again some day when she happens to pass by perhaps. She's just one heck of a free spirit and her love of discovery and adventure likely will never die out really, probably even why it could be hard for her to settle down with a mate anytime.

[attr="class","ws-title"]ABILITIES

Althea has a few basic abilities gifted upon her specific kind. She is a rather odd, but unique dragon type. Instead of protective scales she has a strong, leathery hide in her dragon form. A bipedal beast with no front legs, instead with large wings in place. Alongside breathing fire, Althea also can ingest food which goes to a certain sack in her throat that can turn the food into an acidic spit. This acid can melt even the toughest of dragon scales, but due to the need of food to produce it, the acid is only used when the situation is dire. Outside of that the tip of her tail has a stinger which can inject venom, able to render beast and creatures ten times her size into death. Yet this is a last resort measure to use. Beyond that she simply has a large horn adorning the crest of her muzzle which can be used to jab and rip at flesh. Her species is reasonably large, reaching about 20ft at the shoulders, approximately 35ft in length and amassing a weight upwards of 10,000lbs or so.

Althea likes tend to include the a whole array of things, with notable preferences being ones such as fish or any type of water-dwelling creature that has meat. Warm and sunny days are another, as they are quite enjoyable for her compared to the cold. Flight of course is a given, as it also acts as a fast means of travel when needed too. Often times you can expect Althea to prefer meat over vegetables, as she is a carnivore. Though some things she tends to have a distaste for can include colder weather, vegetable based meals, disrespect and especially betrayal.
