Heavy clouds hung overhead, blocking out the sun and making the ruins dark and foreboding. This, paired with that annoying sink in his stomach that he should stay far from this place, did nothing to frighten him off. Crumbled stone walls and faded paths, he saw nothing to be afraid of, not when nature had already reclaimed her land. An elemental here or there was easy enough to take care of without bothering to change forms, and whatever was emitting that terrible feeling seemed harmless enough when it was nothing more than that: a feeling. He kept his head high as his long legs slowly carried him through the winding passages.
Long, pale fingers threaded through ink black hair as he brushed back the bangs hanging over his eyes. He wore simple clothes of muted colors, bought from a poorer town. Cheap clothes that he would not care to get dirty, that was his thought process when browsing that meager marketplace. His finer clothes had been left in a sack and hidden away at his frequent haunts, allowing him easy access to them as long as no one bothered to dig around enough. The last time that happened, the petty thief had met a gruesome demise after he found the scent and tracked it down.
Poor thing, never stood a chance.
He scoffed, pulling his hand away from his hair before pocketing the hand. His steps slowed, and ruby eyes swept across the area. It looked like it could have been a library of some sort at one point, though nothing but a fractured skeleton of what could have been a grand room remained. Pity. His steps began once more, carrying toward what he could assume would have been a bookcase. It was now eaten out by termites, its shelves laying broken on the floor. Bending down, he picked up the remains of a leather book cover, but the pages within crumbled into dust with the movement.
He clicked his tongue, mumbling in low tones, "Should've saved you while I had the chance."

DON'T FORGET TO TAKE ADVANTAGE WHEREVER YOU CAN ❝ The scent of ruins was heavy in the air, however there was still a faint scent of the past. It was a nostalgic fragrance, old worn books, wooden shelves, the quietness of these ruins brought her calm as well. Most importantly, this smell reminded her of that person. Everything might have been different if she… She slapped herself on her cheeks, looking up into the cloudy skies. Sometimes you simply had to get out of the house or it would drive you to insanity. In her case, she had to take a break from work. It was exhausting working as a faceless entity. There was so many people to keep track and loose ends to tie. Besides no matter how much she wanted it, she can’t change the past. Surely if that person was here, she’ll be laughed at for her pouting. What was important for The Dealer was not money as so many people assumed, but rather what one can buy from it. It’s entertaining to watch the investments getting bigger, but she prefers growing her hoard. What’s better than money and her hoard? Why, it might just be free knowledge for the taking! With that in mind, El tugged at her simple uniform. She looked like a proper adventurer to any naked eye. She was even careful with the finer details, making sure the equipment looks used. It was a bit sad that she felt so comfortable in this constraining form, but she’ll have time to release her stress later. When there was war, there was always profits to be made. “Maybe here?” she asked, rummaging through an old crate. She managed to find an old book, but sadly after opening it, all she found was a few pages of unreadable notes. It only took her moments to notice that she wasn’t alone. Her natural instincts told her to investigate the ‘intruder’, but she wheeled in her urges. After all this place technically did not belong to her. Instead she tried to return to her looking, but the irritation of not being alone was enough to distract her. So, she moved, not caring to stay hidden, but not creating a ruckus either. “Heyya, you here treasure hunting too?” she called out, moving around one of the shelves giving her signature stupid grin on the face. “I’ll reckon most of the good stuff been carted off, but you never know, there’s always surprises!” she beamed, telling the truth as she saw it. The other races had many surprises even if they were of inferior quality. Perhaps they might have some items away in secret areas or she might be looking at the wrong place.
