DON'T FORGET TO TAKE ADVANTAGE WHEREVER YOU CAN ❝ “Oi do your job you worthless knight!”, shouted the merchant. He had come to regret making this decision, no matter how cheap the pricing was. Originally, he was afraid of being found out by the Cesta administration, but now that he was already in free land, he could only feel relief. Relief enough to complain about the hired help. He wasn’t a well-known or rich merchant, but that’s what was ideal with this job. On one hand he couldn’t afford many guards, even if he was paid early, he would draw too much suspicion if he had them. So, he had hired a cheap seeming guard, but the knight hasn’t done one thing the whole trip except lay around with the merchandise! “Useless piece of-,” he began only to cut off by the guard in question. “We’re here in one piece, aren’t we?” the guard stated, as they stepped out from behind the carriage. The man mumbled something about trash before stopping the whole cart. The guard was right, they were here at the meeting spot. With that in mind, he took out a whistle, making the sound to signal their arrival. The knight clad in silver and red armor began unloading the “cargo”, it was only four women and three children. They were dealing with smuggling some races outside of Cesta. They were even servants at one point so the pricing was even more expensive. The merchant being a nervous wreck looked around nervously until a small sack was placed next to him. It was full of gold. “Now get out of here, I’ll take care of the rest,” the knight stated, handing him a document. It was the exact same one he had signed when he made the deal, but now with a seal of completion. It was good enough to him, with his job complete he quickly ran away into Veras Village to be free of his paranoia and the useless guard. El was happy to see the man go. She wouldn’t trust the man to be able to keep a secret, so she’ll rather have him see less than he needed to. She had a reputation or rather the business had a reputation to uphold. After counting again to make sure they were all there, she took off her helmet and whistled again, this time to indicate an all clear alert. She had taken up this job since she wanted to visit Veras Village anyways. Being a fickle being also made her willing to directly help one her business. It didn't take much convincing especially when she dangled money at the bait. The small family behind her was just happy to be free. Now hopefully the people here will quickly relieve her of the baggage. She was so tired from all the laying around she did. MADE BY MINNIE OF FTS & GS

... Horns are a symbol of Strength, but also a symbol of Aggressiveness aking a few minutes to himself to look out just at the docks’ edge had Masahiro gain a recollection of thoughts. From his conical hat that had covered most of his head, Masahiro set his palm just at the tip of his hilt, looking to the water. To think that it had already been a decade and two years that had past felt like a breeze that passed along with the gentle wind of the village. It was in this village that his father became his tutelage for alchemy. He emitted a light smile, shaking his head to the fond memory, turning heel and making way towards the village. His walk was your average everyday walking as if he had nowhere to be currently, or anything to do. Thinking had been his main priority at the moment. Or at least that’s what it was before he caught a glimpse of a carriage that had been pretty far in distance. He saw as a figure in armor motioned to a few women and children, but heard nothing. Perhaps they were just arriving in the village for a bit of a day out in the land of Louthia. Regardless, Masahiro kept his pace steady, continuing forward. The thought of stopping by the local tavern had begun to rest in his mind as he got more in range of the carriage. However, once he took a closer inspection of the guard in armor, Masahiro passed a side glance, looking towards the guard in silver and red armor with a strange pair of horns protruding from the sides of the helm. Masahiro didn’t recall the design from any of the designs he and his mother had created beforehand. Perhaps the helmet was just of a higher ranking guard, that would explain the pigment of the horns as well. He continued to make his way, eventually passing by the guard and keeping his own visage forward. As he passed, however, there had been a bit of a slow moment in his step before he continued. Masahiro could feel a strange feeling of intimidation coming from the guard. As he passed, he raised his head up to look at the sky as he curled his long hair just behind him. There were many times that he had been mistaken for a woman, and hopefully, today wouldn’t be another day similar to that again. But, if he had someone to blame, it’d be his mother and the genetics that made her hair grow longer and faster than usual. It was a trait Masahiro couldn’t really change about himself but cooped with it over the years. He eventually turned on a corner, stopping in his walk before looking up to any nearby tavern establishments. | ✉ | Nope, definitely taking the scenic route. |

DON'T FORGET TO TAKE ADVANTAGE WHEREVER YOU CAN ❝ It was far past the appointed time, yet the pickup had yet to arrive. Unfortunately, El can’t simply just abandon them out here. She had a duty to these people, well more like a business agreement, it was all the same. She might be considered an evil existence to some, but at least she always gave her word. It probably helped that the “merchandise” were women and children. It would be far more awkward and suspicious to continue standing here, so she resolved herself to take them into the village. While El was explaining the situation to the escapees, another person passed them. It appeared to be a woman, a rather pretty one at that. She was momentarily distracted, taking a glance. A local perhaps? Perhaps her luck was turning for the better. Even a seasoned traveler such as herself doesn’t necessarily know all the ins and outs. Especially since all the human lands change so often. She even recalled the village to be even smaller before. She could have sworn it wasn’t here a little while ago. “Ah excuse me pretty lady,” she asked, turning to follow the long-haired woman. Her voice took on a rather gruff tenor as the sound bounced around from within the helmet. The woman was turning the corner and she didn’t want to lose sight. Besides it’ll be rather annoying finding another noble. “Do you know any local taverns around these parts?” she asked, once again her voice reflecting a rougher tone than usual. Her eyes narrowed, there was something wrong about all this. Well yes, the people were late, but it was more so the long-haired woman. She squinted trying to put her finger on it until it finally registered. “Wait! You’re a fraud, you aren’t a pretty lady. Ugh! Just when I thought I scored,” she said, her arms falling over as she hung her head in disappointment. She thought that as soon as she took care of the merchandise she might have some fun scoring a girl or two for a night. However, that was dashed by the fake woman before her. He was certainly pretty, but she had no interest in men. The only thing that gave it away was perhaps the structure of their face. Besides her womanizer senses were tingling, call it intuition, but it worked quite well. “You’re a dirty liar you know that!” she was practically pouting and stomping her feet at that point. It wasn’t until one of the merchandise moved over and touched her shoulder. Right she had a job. “Right right, quickly, the tavern before all my spirit is taken.” MADE BY MINNIE OF FTS & GS

... HORNS ARE A SYMBOL OF STRENGTH, BUT ALSO A SYMBOL OF AGGRESSIVENESS asahiro recognized the tavern just a few feet away from where he had been standing. But of course, the tavern had probably been under new management, especially after having so many years gone by. Hopefully there had been a few barmaids inside. For some odd reason enough, Masahiro preferred women taking care of things rather than a man due to how he had been raised. He truly didn’t find much interest in appearance, nor did he about the tendencies they tend to do when they approach a man they enjoy. Rather than having to be one taking enjoyment of their bodies, seductive speak at times or even proper service, Masahiro preferred to have a conversation over anything. He recalled a few times where he had several, and each person was quite unique in personality. Everything had come so far until he heard the sound of a gruff tone coming from behind. Out of instinct, Masahiro turned towards the armored figure, hovering a palm just over the hilt of his sheathed blade and having taken a few swift steps back. ‘Pretty lady’? Not this again. As he looked back to the figure, he noticed that it had been the same armored figure from before with the horns coming from the sides of his head. Hopefully, it wasn’t another challenger coming to face-off with him as the Scarlet Veil. No, this figure seemed a bit much for a duel, especially with all the armor. Masahiro’s eyebrows began to furrow as the guard continued, calling him a fraud. A fraud for being himself? What kind of nonsense was this one going on about? He watched as the figure continued on with disappointment, rubbing the back of his own neck and blinking to the guard. “You’re a strange one. Not from here, I can tell.” He emitted a light sigh from his lips due to the usual comment on his appearance. The guard also had the others just behind him. Were they a royal family or had they been nobles in need of protection? Maybe it’d be better to sneak out the details whenever he could through simple conversation. Emitting a chuckle to the awkward moment of being called a liar, Masahiro gave off a reassuring grin as he set his gaze to the visage of the guard who had acted a tad bit childish in the given moment. “It’s just north from here.” He pointed just behind him, stepping sideways for the figure to look in the direction of the tavern. “ Getting a drink for the family, yeah? That’s pretty kind of you. Luckily, I’m headed there myself.” He remained with a positive outlook, setting his palm onto the hilt of his sheath before motioning for the lot to follow along should they wish. “Also, you’d ought to be a bit more polite to a stranger. I hear the barmaids are picky when it comes to serving guards.” He smirked with a faint glance to the guard, continuing to lead onwards to the tavern. | ✉ | How dare you call him a fraud! o:< |

DON'T FORGET TO TAKE ADVANTAGE WHEREVER YOU CAN ❝ With all things considered, the not-a-pretty-lady man handled the situation quite well. El was still pouting under her helmet though. He was real pretty, shame it was all wasted. For a moment she considered the man’s mother. Maybe his mother was a real beauty, but she’ll need more information for that. Besides older women were difficult to deal with and there was no guarantee El was their type. “Strange? Well at least I’m not a fraud,” she argued, crossing her arms. “Wait,” she considered that statement for a moment. With all things considered she was a fraud, so it wasn’t right for her to say that. “Never mind that,” she tried to correct herself, but it’ll be wrong to just outright admit it. When he showed the way to the tavern, her mood almost immediately improved. The tavern was a great source of information, hopefully she can identify the people she was to turn the family over to. The last words really cut deep though, there were quite a few beautiful barmaids out in the world. No! She had a job to complete first! “Yeah, I hear you,” she said, let’s just hurry and get some food in the stomach first. She moved and went in first, seating themselves a bit out of the way to get a view of the place. A good meal will do them good, even the children were a bit nervous. With a sigh, she shouldered the costs, ordering a great deal of food and drinks for everyone. “Listen, you don’t happen to see their relatives, do you? They don’t remind you of anyone around here?” she asked the pretty man first. When the food finally arrived though, she finally took off her helm. Picking up a bit of everything, she tasted each food before allowing the family to eat. There wasn’t anything dangerous or poisonous, one can never be too careful. MADE BY MINNIE OF FTS & GS

... HORNS ARE A SYMBOL OF STRENGTH, BUT ALSO A SYMBOL OF AGGRESSIVENESS t was a hilarious moment to find a guard acting in such a way. However, this was the best expression Masahiro has seen yet. Most of the typical guards kept to themselves or simply refuse to speak with members of a lower social class. That had been just as fine with Masahiro seeing as he didn’t have to waste his breath on them. It was better that the guard actually had a personality rather than a cold, stoic demeanor. Masahiro regarded to these folks as ‘Steel-stumps’. Luckily, this guard wasn’t considered a Steel-stump in his eyes. As she continued to point him out on being a fraud on the situation of his appearance, Masahiro simply blinked to the comment, continuing on his way towards the tavern. As they eventually made their way in, Masahiro removed his hat and began sitting at quite the large table. He then called over a familiar face, exchanging a smile and a short conversation with her. Watching as the rest ordered, Masahiro preferred a simple mug of ale, along with a loaf of bread and fish. He took a glance from time to time, looking between the guard and the family. Were they going to remove their helm? It took a good few minutes before having the food delivered to the table before he watched as he grabbed his tray of food and drink, looking at the dirty blonde/brunette figure. It was kind of the guard to seemingly be wanting to pay for everything, but Masahiro simply went along with it. Setting his grasp onto his mug, he took a few gulps, grabbing a nearby napkin and wiping his lips. It was then that the question arose from the guard. He raised an eyebrow before looking at the rest and exchanging a blink to each. He knew a reasonable amount of people, but these folks didn’t seem to be from the area. He shook his head, looking back to the guard. “I don’t, unfortunately. I thought they were your family. Let me guess, they’re a group of folks you’re trying to help, yeah?” He looked curiously for a moment to the guard, breaking off pieces of his bread, along with pieces of his fried fish with a fork. DON'T FORGET TO TAKE ADVANTAGE WHEREVER YOU CAN ❝ “What? They, not your family?” El half-joked, taking a draught from the ale. It was weaker than what she likes, but it’ll look badly to be drinking anything heavier. The family happily began to dig into the meal, though they seemed to manage to keep their manners well enough. Honestly most of the other species look the same. There were only a few minor differences, what with the ears and tails, whatnot. It was just hard to tell them apart unlike dragons. Sure, some of them were prettier than others, at least she can tell their genders apart, most of the time. “Yeah sure, I’m helping them,” she agreed, it was more of a business transaction than out of the goodness of her heart. The man can believe what he wanted, but the end result will be the same. At least she can appear positive in her actions, eventually her karma must balance out at some point. This small bit of maintenance wasn’t all that costly considering the profits she makes, so it isn’t against her nature to be a little bit charitable occasionally. “They were supposed to be picked up ages ago, but nobody showed up,” she muttered dejectedly. It would be bad to just leave them alone, but there is only so much the dragon was willing to do. Perhaps she can give them some funds, but they’ll have to fend for themselves by that point. It’ll be hard when you don’t have any connections in unfamiliar land. El still had some time to waste, so it won’t hurt to try and find the pickup. “I think it’s one of their husband, managed to scrounge enough money out. What with them being servants stuck in Cesta for so long. Guess it might be some rebels, but hell I know. They apparently don’t trust me enough beyond minor details,” she sighed, downing the rest of the ale before ordering another batch. “Can you talk to them, I don’t think they trust me enough, I can barely get a name out of them the whole ride so I just ended up napping most of the way,” she sighed, picking at her food now in irritation. She’ll do what she can, but if there are no details, then she can’t do much. Just because one is a dragon, doesn’t mean they are omnipotent after all. MADE BY MINNIE OF FTS & GS

... HORNS ARE A SYMBOL OF STRENGTH, BUT ALSO A SYMBOL OF AGGRESSIVENESS s the guard responded, he blinked towards her direction, giving her a bland look. Maybe the drink was a bit too strong for her, or maybe it had just been something the guard had been used to doing. His glance followed along from the family before looking back to his own food, seemingly content with his own food. Her response pretty much gave off the impression she had definitely been more than just helping them, but what exactly was it? She had been seemingly comfortable in the current setting, as to which Masahiro had always been on the lookout, especially in what he said and how he said it. It was then when she finally mentioned about them being ‘picked up ages ago’ that Masahiro’s eyes trailed back to the guard. Picked up? As she continued, he listened in onto the situation more until finally realizing what the guard had been doing. It was either that she was a mercenary smuggler, or a mercenary doing odd jobs for certain prices. Setting his mug down, Masahiro crossed his arms and looked back to the guard. His voice was a tad bit hushed, but enough for her to hear him clearly. “Hopefully you hadn’t been followed. I can’t say for certain how the kingdom of Louthia would react to hearing that someone had been bringing folks from Cesta into Louthian lands.” Almost out of attempting to remove the suspicion of speaking of such a topic, Masahiro brought the mug to his lips once more, speaking calmly. “But that’s your business, not mine. I’m sure you know what’s at stake.” He chuckled before gulping down the rest of his ale. It’d be wise to get out of the situation quickly before anyone had noticed or even gotten more into it, but Masahiro decided to stay put for the meantime, seeing as there was not too much going on in the village as of late. Looking back to the guard as she spoke again, he emitted a light breath from his nostrils, along with a faint glance. It was amazing how uncalculated this woman was. Either way, it was either help her for the meantime or just get threatened to do so. Regardless, Masahiro looked to the others, perking his head up with a light, yet positive tone in his voice. “So! How’re you lot doing today?” A faint grin came up as he spoke, enough to make it seem genuine as if he were having a regular conversation.
